In 1955, the vineyard was designated a Cru Classé in Provence. In 1973, Indoo Shivdasani, an Anglo-Indian financier who also owned the Saint-Jean-de-Villecroze estate and Château Vignelaure for a number of years, bought the land. After his death in 1979, his wife Lakshmi, his sons Sonu and Azad, and then his granddaughter Bina took over, although their commitment was less passionate. LVMH acquired the estate and its vineyards in 2019, initiating a conversion to organic farming.

The masters of the estate
Part of the Moët-Hennessy group, the wine and spirits subsidiary of the prestigious luxury house LVMH, Château Galoupet has been run since 2019 by Jessica Julmy, former sales director at Krug. Mathieu Meyer has been technical director since 2020. The vineyard, classified as a Cru in Provence, obtained organic certification in 2023.

Wine-making crafts
The 69-hectare vineyard, surrounded by classified woodland and overlooking the Mediterranean, is undergoing a major transformation, unveiling a bold blending process for the classic rosé. Grenache and Cinsault come together, enriched by Syrah, Mourvèdre and Tibouren, to create a uniquely complex rosé, with a seductive rose-petal hue and bewitching aromas of garrigue and sea spray, accompanied by a subtle hint of acidity and liveliness.

Château Galoupet 2022
Château Galoupet Cru Classé Rosé transcends the notions of purity and singularity inherent in its terroir. The 2022 vintage embodies the essence of the estate, where minerality merges harmoniously with smoothness. Grapefruit zest intertwines with delicate peach aromas, concluding on a long finish with lingering mineral accents. This aromatic palette, inherited from the exceptional terroirs of Château Galoupet in the heart of “Provence Cristalline”, reveals a complex, intense nose, evoking notes of white fruit, citrus fruit, bitter almonds and subtle floral aromas.

On the palate, this wine displays roundness, fullness and structure, giving way to a lingering, mineral finish that evokes the Mediterranean sea breeze skimming through the vineyards. Remarkably versatile, this Cru Classé elegantly accompanies every stage of the culinary experience, from aperitif to dessert. Château Galoupet Cru Classé Rosé 2022 is the perfect companion, enhancing every moment of the tasting experience.
